Honokeana Cove is in Napili, West Maui, just 8 miles north of historic Lahaina Town. The gated property surrounds a secluded cove with a breathtaking view of the nearby island of Molokai from every unit. NEW TO VACATION CONDO RENTAL? If you're used to giant hotels with mile-long hallways, you'll find Honokeana Cove a refreshing change. You won't have hotel features like daily maid service, 24 hour desk, restaurant, gym or spa. Instead, you'll enjoy comfortable condos with full kitchen, bath and bedroom(s), perfect for couples, families and groups to relax together. We're not a "party" destination, because we keep quiet hours from 10 pm to 8 am. There are just 38 units in this gated oceanfront property, featuring basking sea turtles and never ending sunsets. Enhanced Cleaning and Disinfection: All Honokeana Cove units are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before every guest. Housekeepers use EPA hospital-grade disinfectant sprays and cleaning agents with extra attention to all high-touch surfaces. All dishware including plates, bowls, glassware, coffee cups and silverware is washed at high temperature settings. All soft surfaces, including couches, occasional chairs and mattresses are sprayed with a disinfectant to assure cleanliness and safety. Linens and towels are washed with the highest heat temperature and additional drying time, to ensure proper sanitization.

Cancellations and Refunds: Bookings cancelled more than 30 days prior to check-in will receive refund of deposit less $50 cancellation fee. Less than 30 days prior to arrival date, cancellation forfeits the rental amount. However, if health or a personal issue causes you to cancel, contact the rental office. Guests are strongly encouraged to obtain trip insurance for protection from unforeseen circumstances.

Add Hawaii tax (17.416%; 17.962% effective 1/1/2024) & one cleaning fee to all rates. Specify your total number of guests of all ages for an accurate rate quote.

Free Parking for one vehicle. No Resort Fee. Hawaii taxes remitted by Honokeana Cove Rental Association LLC, Tax ID 067-626-5984-01. This unit has air conditioning in the downstairs bedroom and loft; there are also ceiling fans.

  We have rented at the Cove several times over the years and always come back. It gives us the low-key, oceanfront experience we love. Access to the cove for snorkeling is one of the main attractions for us, as well as the magnificent views of the surf crashing beyond the cove and the whales enjoying their winter retreat. This time, we had Unit 213. It has a fabulous view. Downstairs bedroom has twin beds (a bit small for adults) and the upstairs has a queen. A comfy couch gives nice seating for four or five. The dressers could use replacing, but overall, the unit is in good shape. The bathrooms with large walk-in showers appear to be a recent addition—much appreciated.

  This cove is a beautiful for swimming for even the novice and other water activities. My issue is each condominium is owned by a different person and the overall cost is based on the size of the unit. Our unit was one bedroom with a loft. We didn't need the loft but it was the only option available. The owner of our unit didn't upgrade the unit or put any investment into making it more comfortable. The towels were old and very used. We were there 10 nights and no cleaning of the unit or extra sheets or towels for a long stay. In other units they had this small amenity. We were paying $400.00 a night and it would have been nice if there was a cleaning mid stay. Other condos have cleaning and towels cleaned and sheets in 4 days. If you get a unit (no way to know) with the guidance of Campo, the manager, who helps the "regulars" get the renovated units it would be nice or they should lower the fee for the old units that are not cleaned unless you stay 2 weeks. The location is good for restaurants and there are 3 barbecues but the kitchen is electric and not very functional. The workers cleaned the grass every morning and that was good. You are expected to take out your garbage. I am not a snob but for $400.00 a night - I expect more attention and a better unit. The kitchen chairs rolled and were a poor choice in my opinion.

    We are sorry to hear that you were not completely satisfied with your stay. I am happy to report that our property is under new management, and we have undergone a lot of positive change. We have all new towels and linens that are much better quality. We are also happy to report that we have all new office staff available to assist you with your future bookings to ensure you get a condo that is to your liking. We still wont offer trash service, unfortunately. The onsite dumpsters are the best options to keep pests and critters at bay. If you are visiting our property for 14 days, you will get a maid service on your 7th day, however, fresh towels and linens are available upon request. We have an onsite residential manager ready to address any after hours maintenance issues. We hope you consider visiting our property again to see the many improvements we have made.

  We had a wonderful time at Honokeana Cove! It was our first time staying there. We had a wonderful view of the cove and ocean, and loved snorkeling and seeing the fish and huge turtles! Our condo was well stocked with everything we needed, including a cooler bag in which we packed a lunch for our drive to Hana. We enjoyed walking to the Gazebo Restaurant, as well as a beautiful beach to the North. I would highly recommend this property to friends! It was such a relaxing and enjoyable trip.   This was our 7th time to the Cove. Like always Su, Ray, and Betty were great. The grounds were immaculate, so many turtles to swim with every day plus a bonus this year, we actually were visited by a couple seals, so awesome. This place by far is the best in Maui. As far as condo #213, would not stay at this condo again, I guess the best way to describe it is “Tired”, loft bed mattress needs an upgrade, not very comfortable, and the pillows were just as bad. Carpets were a little dingy especially the one downstairs, and the rest of carpet seemed dirty. Kitchen supplies not as nice as other units, we like to cook most of our meals there, they had no containers with any lids to store leftovers or put fruit in etc...they had two Tommy Bahama beach chairs but one was broken, plus the closets were cluttered with stuff, “just need to clean them out” furniture downstairs just seemed old and run down, I get this a rental property but if your getting top dollar, you need to spend a little to keep it nice, especially the loft bed! Trip was great, like I said Su, Ray and Betty were outstanding. We will definitely return just not to #213! Bring back Pupu Wednesdays, we can social distance out there.

  40 years ago I visited with my mother and learned to snorkel. After traveling the world snorkeling The state of the coral here and other beaches in Maui was disappointing, although I enjoyed the turtles. The condo was very nice although the carpets were dirty. The difficulty in turning on the tv and the wifi was frustrating. The wifi didn't work for 4 days and the front desk said I was on holiday so shouldn't get on line or watch tv. That was not helpful. There was no list in the condo of local restaurants, or recommended snorkeling sites and boats, nor any list of other things to do, such as the butterfly farm and bee area. That is always helpful. Given the extra charge for cleaning I think the cleaners should have emptied the garbage.

    Aloha Patricia, The office did send up our handyman the first day you said you could not turn on the Tv or Wifi. We always encourage our guests to enjoy the beauty of the Cove and Maui rather than to watch TV or be online. If you were still having problems we wish you had come down to the office and let us know. You must remember that these are private condos and not a hotel with a concierge desk. Our many many repeat guests come to enjoy just the Cove and do not venture beyond the Cove. New guests will do their research prior to coming on activities and popular eateries and snorkel spots. But, they will never find a better place to snorkel than at the Cove. i apologize for the carpets; we have been so busy, it is hard to get carpets cleaned with our many many reservations. The carpets have been scheduled in the near future to be cleaned. The extra charge for cleaning is for sterilization after departure due to the ongoing COVID pandemic. We are not a hotel and do not provide for daily trash removal or maid services. I hope that you will, not take another 40 years to come back to Maui. mahalo, su

  We rented 3 units. 2 of them thru management. Everything went very smoothly from check in to check out. There was a hot water issue that was addressed very quickly. My daughter and family stayed in unit 213. They were very comfortable there. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and pans and supplies. They liked having the air conditioning at nite.   Wonderful experience, except for all the noisy children. We have been here several times, and have always enjoyed the peaceful tranquility; however, this trip was not so tranquil. Young children were up and running around the property at 6AM, - toys in the pool, playing "ball" games on the grass, etc., none of which is supposed to be allowed. Is there any way to put a minimum age of 10 for children?

  I have been to the Hawaiian Islands about a dozen times... because I’m comfortable driving around and exploring, and.. the temperature usually does not get excessively hot! Having visited most of the ‘must see’ places on previous vacations, I was super content to enjoy the spectacular views, and great snorkeling that was steps from my condo! Though the entry & exit was a little precarious (rocky vs sand)... once in- it was some of the best for seeing turtles and fish! When the surf was too strong to snorkel here, I either drove a short distance to other beaches (sign up for daily snorkel report emails), or just sat on the lanai to watch the many surfers who appeared! Our unit was clean, a few areas were a little tired, but Location is what it is all about; sure you might hear noise from garbage pickup trucks (a necessary evil, right?), but this smaller cozy condo complex is exceptional in its location! My 2nd time here- and will be back!

  Well equipped and comfortable condo with 2 bedrooms. Great location on the water, particularly for those that like to swim and snorkel. Very nice beach about 10 walk. Some good restaurants near by.   We have stayed at Honokeana Cove many times and in several different units. This unit has an incredible view of the cove. It is roomy and has plenty of furniture. This kitchen is well stocked. The air conditioning was a big help in the afternoon and evening. What this unit needs is a little fixing up though. The carpets are in need of either replacing or a good cleaning. The upstairs bathroom is a tough one. To stand at the sink you are squeezing in between the toilet and the counter. Also, not all the drawers work so you are limited to 2. That being said, a little updating and this unit would be on the top of my list next time.

  The location of this rental is the main appeal. View from the balcony was very nice. The unit itself is old and has been minimally maintained. Furnishings are worn, mismatched and outdated. The decor is very unappealing; cluttered, poorly displayed, too much in a small space. There is nothing modern or chosen to appeal to guests expecting quality. Bedding is old and worn. Cleanliness was appalling. We had to scrub the front door inside of black handprints and ask to have bedroom drapes cleaned. Both bathrooms were in terrible shape; discoloured tiles, vanities too big or too small for the space, upstairs glass shower door had no metal trim on the bottom edge where it slid in the brass track. Closets were cluttered with owners belongings. The bedroom window trims are rotted from the humidity along with some kitchen cabinet doors. The louver windows open onto the parking lot and the main road and do not shut out the noise so we were forced to use ear plugs at night during our 8 day stay. The front door deadbolt did not work properly and the chain latch was very old. There was incomplete poorly worded information on how to operate TV/DVD. WIFI password info was incorrect. The owners of this unit obviously keep the rate low to attract consistent rentals and do the very minimum to maintain it. We were extremely disappointed as the photos online do not reflect the actual condition. Each unit is privately owned and maintained differently. This unit was like staying in someone's old outdated apartment while they were away somewhere. Did not fit at all with the exterior surroundings.

    Aloha, I am terribly sorry you had a bad experience with this unit. It is sort of funny to me since we have a guest in this unit right now for one month and thoroughly enjoys it. She is a return guest and has stayed in many different units here at Honokeana Cove. No complaints at all from her along with the numerous other guests who have stayed here before in unit 213. The owner has done some upgrades and is continuing to do more. One must remember when booking at Honokeana Cove for the first time, we are an older complex and we do not claim to be a five star resort. We are "Old Hawaii"....comfortable and clean. We are indeed the most affordable place in the Napili/Kapalua area. We want people to come and enjoy our little slice of Paradise without spending big bucks.   It was a wonderful family vacation. My adult children stayed in this unit. Nice furnishings. The cove is a great place to snorkel with the turtles and fish. They did mention that the sheets and comforters were a bit scratchy. The units on this side are open in the back to the parking lot and walk way which can be a bit noisy. It was a busy week with Easter and a wedding party is noisier then usual. Usually a quiet safe secluded place

  We have stayed at Honokeana Cove many times over the last 20 years. Location, Location, Location!
  Unit #213 has a beautiful view looking out over the lawn, pool, bbq's and ocean. Because it is on the second floor the white water views are amazing.
  The front room has two pretty and very comfortable sofas. I think there were three TV's but we never had them on, that's saying something since we were traveling with grandsons 8 and 18 years old.
  We will return again. Management is very responsive to all needs.

  This was my fifth stay at Honokeana Cove. It's as great as it was on my first visit fifteen years ago. Swim with turtles every morning. Beautiful sunsets. A nice store close by so you don't have to go to Lahaina to shop. There are three great restaurants a short walk away at Napili Bay. Thanks Sue and everyone at HC for another great holiday. Oh, and don't miss the pupu party every Wednesday night to meet your temporary neighbors.

We felt extra safe with the locking gates so I would recommend this location to families with children. We loved being on the second floor for the little extra privacy and the view.

  Over all great stay, However our first couple of days the refrigerator had a major door issue and we lost over $300 in food we purchased from Costco. We spoke to the staff and on third day of our stay a repair company came out to fix the issue and all was well. Thanks to Sue for taking care of everything while she was on her days off. She is a true Professional, as for her back up she is not up to par as of yet...Hopefully in time she will be as strong as Sue.

    Aloha Mark, thank you for the review. Unfortunately living on an island it gives us very few options when crisis' occur. Appliance repair men are hard to come by at times. My assistant Crystal is on her first year here at the Cove and is an excellent assistant and is still learning on a day bay day process. In this business we never know what issue will occur and can not be trained on handling such problems until they actually happen. I guess after 22 years I have run into almost every case scenario and have learned through experience and in time, Crystal will learn more as I have.   I can only say Shangri la! The place is amazing, peaceful, tranquil, manicured to a tee, private and one of the best hidden gems Maui has to offer.
  Su Campos, the onsite manager, made it super easy upon checking in and providing anything and everything I needed. She and her staff are super cool, professional and friendly.
  The condos are well stalked, clean and comfortable. The views are too die for and the place is well manicured and clean. Swim in the pool or with the turtles in the cove.
  If I could I would live here 24/7! Thank you Su Campos for making it part of my life!

  Overall the property we rented was well maintained and we understood from the staff that it was average as far as how the owners have maintained it. The grounds were extremely well maintained and the grounds keeper made a daily round picking up leaves in the yard. I would definitely be comfortable staying here again.

  Great small 2 story complex. 3 buildings all ocean front and a warm, heated pool right ocean front. Oh and the resident turtles, swimming and snorkeling was great! We stayed in #213 which had a loft and plenty of room for 4. Beds were a bit uncomfortable/older. They could be undated. The twin beds were pushed together to make one downstairs bedroom. Kitchen has been nicely updated and the unit has been freshly painted. All nice tile floors throughout the main floor. There was construction going of and on during our stay. We were told that there was major renovations on the property last year. Thought it would have been done by the time we arrived. Wasnt everyday and Sue at the front desk was very helpful and understanding, helped us out. This is whale season and every morning sitting out on the patio drinking coffee eating out papaya and pineapple was viewed a daily whale show! The Gazebo Restaurant is literally a hope skip and a jump away for a great breakfast and whale show again. Expect to wait 45 minutes and its at the Nailpi Shores
