Unit #212-1BR+Mezzanine BR/2 Bath

Unit 212 has a spectacular view of Honokeana Cove and Molokai Island across the Pailolo Channel. The Cove is home to dozens of turtles and offers sheltered snorkeling and paddle boarding above coral formations and tropical fish.

This attractive two-bath unit sleeps five (5). The upstairs Mezzanine bedroom has a California King bed, bathroom, and closet. The downstairs bedroom has two twin beds (that can be made into a Queen). The downstairs living room has a spacious sofa that can be made into a queen-size bed.

A/C unit is located in the downstairs bedroom.

A fully stocked kitchen with granite countertops includes a refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and cooktop/oven. The gated complex offers free parking, a heated pool, oceanside gas BBQs, and luxurious tropical landscaping.

The peaceful cove offers some of the best calm water snorkeling on Maui, with abundant coral formations, tropical fish, and sea turtles. Guests also enjoy paddle boarding and swimming in this private cove.


NEW TO VACATION CONDO RENTAL? If you're used to giant hotels with mile-long hallways, you'll find Honokeana Cove a refreshing change. You won't have hotel features like daily maid service, 24 hour desk, restaurant, gym or spa. Instead, you'll enjoy comfortable condos with full kitchen, bath and bedroom(s), perfect for couples, families and groups to relax together. We're not a "party" destination, because we keep quiet hours from 10 pm to 8 am. There are just 38 units in this gated oceanfront property, featuring basking sea turtles and never ending sunsets. Enhanced Cleaning and Disinfection: All Honokeana Cove units are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before every guest. Housekeepers use EPA hospital-grade disinfectant sprays and cleaning agents with extra attention to all high-touch surfaces. All dishware including plates, bowls, glassware, coffee cups and silverware is washed at high temperature settings. All soft surfaces, including couches, occasional chairs and mattresses are sprayed with a disinfectant to assure cleanliness and safety. Linens and towels are washed with the highest heat temperature and additional drying time, to ensure proper sanitization.

Cancellations and Refunds: Bookings cancelled more than 30 days prior to check-in will receive refund of deposit less $50 cancellation fee. Less than 30 days prior to arrival date, cancellation forfeits the rental amount. However, if health or a personal issue causes you to cancel, contact the rental office. Guests are strongly encouraged to obtain trip insurance for protection from unforeseen circumstances.

Add one cleaning fee, damage waiver and Hawaii tax (17.962%) to all rates.

Free Parking for one vehicle. No Resort Fee. Hawaii taxes remitted by Honokeana Cove Rental Association LLC, Tax ID 067-626-5984-01. This unit has ceiling fans for temperature control.

  Beautiful Ocean bay location. All units have a wonderful Ocean view. Onsite manager and gardener take great care of the complex. Our unit was clean and a great fit for our family:) We were a family of four Adults. We all had a wonderful time. Perfect location and feel for us:). Only things I would want next renters to know in advance is that this unit had a small TV that is not a smart TV. The other would be that the complex has a fence around it but there is not one around the pool. We were very happy there was not one around the pool it would have taken away from the view and old Hawaiian carefree feel but anyone staying with young children take note you can walk straight from your bottom unit into the pool etc. Again we were very happy it was not fenced and believe parents need to be responsible for watching their children 24/7 it’s just a heads up to parents of little ones.

  Beautiful location, grounds well kept. Unit 212 is old and needed updating. Screens were blown out on slider, slider squeaked, closet doors fell off, bathroom door squeaked and did not close completely, light bulbs missing in bathroom, louver windows did not close, fridge was really, really noisy, wall mirrors were stained due to age, walls were dirty and needed to be repainted, there is no ac, ceiling fans needed maintenance - random squeaking noises at all speeds, curtains did not block out lights from grounds at night, no bathroom products provided beyond bar soap. Really difficult to get a good nights sleep here due to the lights and constant noise - from fans, from fridge, from road.

  This was our 5th time staying here and we stayed for New Years in 2019.
  Probably going to be our last time. It has been an amazing place to stay with beautiful lawn and the cove so close. However, since the pandemic, no PooPoo Wednesday, no NewYears BBQ, New Years Eve sounded like a war zone, almost like pipe bombs going off- whizzing in the bushes nearby, for 5 hours around the neighborhood. Can’t control the neighborhood, I know. Just sayin’- if you decide to book New Years.
  The Aloha was lacking. Our unit was woeful. I know the owner just passed but it was dirty, 1/2 a roll of paper towels, two dish clothes, no dish rags, lack of plastic cups to take to the pool, no cleaning supplies to clean countertops or the filthy lanai table. Finally found the broom in the upstairs clothes closet. Beach towels were worn with holes in them. LOTS of little kids. We arrived to about 20 littles with a family reunion running around the lawn, having a very good time. Okay. I like kids, but it wasn’t peaceful like I remembered. It’s a family place,our timing was off, toys all over the lawn. Check in 4pm -check out 10 am (seems early) Overall it’s a magical place, but tourist still wear sunscreen that they bring from home, the reef is dying and it’s so sad. I think Honokeana Cove needs to educate and sell mineral sunscreen in the office. Put up some signed letting people know what sunscreen is doing. It’s like you all agree but continue to do nothing to make it better. The Pandemic didn’t help at all. But come on folks don’t lose your edge.
  Definitely some units better than others. I would read the reviews carefully instead of just taking what they have available.
  PS: went to the Old Lahaina Luau. Last time as well......food just not up to snuff anymore. Dancers still amazing, beautiful and talented.

    Aloha Heater Family, It is a shame that you did not enjoy your time here. First of all, our units are not dirty...some are tired and somewhat old; can't clean old. This property is kid friendly and I always suggest if you want peace than don't come for Christmas holiday or in July and August. As far as not have pupu parties and BBQ's we are still in a pandemic and we can not assume liability if someone gets COVID from one of our Cove parties. Educating the public is like asking infants to read instructions. You can print all you want to educate people but most people will not read. As locals, we care about our island and only pray that our visitors do. Visitors need to do their own research when visiting us or any place they visit. Maui is oversold and is now paying the price of tourism. I do hope that you will visit us again and please book early in order to choose the right condo for your needs. mahalo, su

  Our family of three stayed at Honokeana Cove over Easter break with another family who stayed in unit 211. It is a absolutely wonderful location, featuring fantastic snorkeling in the cove with a large number of turtles, and a short walk to Napili beach for swimming.
  The facility is meticulously maintained by an onsite ground manager daily. While our unit is an older renovation (hence the 4 stars for condition), the beds were good and everything worked as expected. We did have a problem with the dishwasher, but the management company had a repair person out to fix the problem that very day. Highly recommended if you are looking for a quiet location and want to avoid the mega resort hotels.

  My wife left some things in a dresser drawer; Cove personnel could have let us know and offered to ship at our expense, but no word from them.

  Such a beautiful peaceful place. So much better than the crowded, hi-rise Kaanapali area!
  
  3 minor problems:
  
  1. I have a moderate handicap. An extended ramp all the way to the water's edge would have helped me a lot. I needed some help on the walkway to the cove entrance spot.
  
  2. #212 gets some loud traffic starting about 5:00AM. Often it would wake us early.
  
  3. There was one broken chair leg on our deck that was reported, but not repaired or replaced.
  
  The view from #212 is outstanding.
  
  Bottom Line: We will be back, but may try to get a unit farther from road.

The snorkeling experiences were legendary. All five of us thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would love to do it again some day. The limg size bed in 212 was a little stiff for my personal preference, but all else was magnificent. Thank you Su and staff!

The cozy couch allowed for a quick nap after swimming with the turtles all day. And the proximity of the condo allows for easy access to shopping, restaurants and hiking trails.

  The view is beyond amazing. The condo was comfortable and having the ability to cook at home instead of another expensive dinner is a big perk. Even though there is no air conditioner, it stays cool with the fans on and windows open. The only downers were the gate slamming and car noise. The road the complex is on is very busy and we ended up having to use earplugs to be able to sleep. The loft is where the king bed was but it does not cool off up there at night so my husband and I slept in the downstairs bedroom that has two twin beds. I liked that the condo had beach chairs, beach towels, and boogie boards.

  I'm almost afraid to write of the many good things about Honokeana Cove because if it were found out the place will fill up and never be available. This is a rare find in Maui.
  
  The property is a 10+, just far enough away from the normal crush of tourists to be in the perfect location. The view toward Molokai that is simply breathtaking. The small attached cove is amazing, offering easy access to coral ridges, numerous varieties of tropical fish and a rare opportunity to swim alongside dozens of giant sea turtles. The grounds are managed at a, "Disney-quality" level and the management team is on-site and very responsive. For sure, make a Costco run near the Kahalui airport before coming. We enjoy breakfast on lanai and BBQ-ing at sundown with the other guests and locals.
  
  The condo's, themselves, are, "OK". Don't expect 5-star luxury here. Each unit is individually owned but managed by the association. The kitchens, bedding and furnishing are similar from unit-to-unit but do vary some, depending on the owner. Most of them could use some upgrades but all of the ones that we‘ve seen are set up well and are more than adequate. Importantly to us, the rental price is fair, even a good value for Maui.
  
  I'll just say that you would come to Honokeana Cove for the view and it’s a great one. It’s tempting to sit all day on the lanai and watch rainbows form over pods of dolphins swimming by. No kidding, this actually happens. We’ve been to Honokeana Cove three time now ad will be returning soon. It’s our home-away-from-home. It would be impossible to recommend it more highly than we do. Book it now, before it fills up!

  Unit 212 needs some upgrades and some general maintenance. The window screens on the deck need to be replaced and the sun screen on the front of the deck needs some tie downs. The threshold on the sliding glass door needs to be painted and the sills in the bedroom on the main floor need to be repaired and painted.   This 2nd floor loft unit was comfortable, and clean with a lovely view of the cove from the balcony lanai. The kitchen was very well equipped. Lots of towels, too.
  There was a small table under the stairs, but nowhere to dine inside because of so much large-scale furniture filling up the space. So we ate all meals on the covered balcony, which was a tight squeeze for four people. We could not close the louvered window at the top of the stairs (rusted open?) and there was A LOT of road noise that made it hard to sleep at night, especially in the downstairs bedroom. That was disappointing. The cove itself has terrific snorkeling, but a very rocky and slippery access. Use caution. We liked the ambiance of the units around the Cove.

  This was a great condo with updated kitchen and bath. Would have loved another beach chair instead of the 4 umbrellas. The kitchen was extremely well stocked. Great airflow so a/c was not missed at all. The best thing about this complex is the easy entry for snorkeling in the almost private cove. The water is calm all day long, not just morning like most beaches. If you want waves and sand, walk down the road two complexes over. This unit would really be perfect if they got rid of the excess furniture that makes it feel crowded. Less is more!

  Love this place. However, we found the security lacking as compared to previously. The gates were repeated left propped open and there were numerous people not staying at the Cove using the facilities.. Was a drag to have to sit with my laundry-had to be done on our 12 day stay once. The grounds were in impeccable condition. Kudos to the gardener and to Suz and her assistant for trying to discourage any trespassing. We will certainly return and already planning the next adventure.

  We love this place, one of our favorite snorkeling spots is right in front of condo! The turtle watching is amazing here. People staying here were always friendly and family oriented. We love being able to bbq every night. The lighting of the torches and conch blowing every evening were fun. We love the convenience too, being so close to so many fun beaches. We like Kapalua beach for snorkel as well and the gazebo for breakfast. Highly recommend!!!

  We came here for our week-long honeymoon (I had visited several times previously with my family). There is no better snorkeling spot in all of Maui, combined with quiet privacy and gorgeous, manicured grounds. The unit was spotless and well outfitted for cooking, which we took advantage of thanks to the Napili Market just up the road. Truly a dream vacation. We're already plotting a return for future anniversaries!

  Wrap-around living room sofa positioned as a barricade against eating at kitchen counter. View from lanai was good, but "party" of 4 "adults" in Unit 213 were consistently loud, making eating on lanai an unpleasant noise-fest during 2nd week. No hooks for hanging any clothes, towels, etc. in loft bathroom, and constant mildew odor unless vent fan left running and door left open. Lack of air conditioning, washer dryer were also minuses.

  Our ten days at the cove went by quickly. Snorkeling was fantastic. We went several times. Unit #212 was very clean and had everything we needed except measuring cups/spoons for baking so we had to guesstimate. Some frustrations with the TVs as one remote affected both TVs. Showers had good pressure. I like that. Laundry facilities open 24 hours. Awesome! Friendly neighbors. Enjoyed visiting out by the rock wall and loved the fresh bananas from the tree! We will keep coming back. I wouldn't recommend this place for children. The ones that were here upset the balance and there was little for them to do here. There are a lot of rules. No ball throwing, etc.

  We loved our stay in the cove. We will certainly be back for another visit as this is a fantastic complex with a great playground mere feet away. However, we will probably be looking to stay is a different unit?
  
  Our comments regarding #212 are:
  
  The stairs to the upper level are on the verge of "dangerous" especially when you are struggling with suitcases etc (even without suitcase we had to go down these stair sideways ... I suggest the owners consider they take up another two feet of the living room to reduce the slope and give more space for your feet on each tread. This is the only reason that we would prefer not to stay in this unit again ... lots of other units to experience. Please pass along these comments to the owners for there consideration.
  
  Other than the stairs ... all is good.

  What an amazing place! If you are looking for a smaller private place to stay, instead of the mega resorts that line the coast, then this is a perfect choice. Beautifully maintained with it's own private cove where you can swim with sea turtles! #212 isn't their best unit. Many others seemed to be more nicely furnished. The bed broke while we were there - yep! They did fix it fast and overall the unit was fine with a good view. We even saw whales in the distance from the balcony.

  We planned this trip for our daughter's high school graduation. I found your resort on the Internet and it sounded very nice. All of our expectations were either met or exceeded.
  
  The cove was awesome. We smokeled every day. The fish and turtles were cool.
  We liked the proximity to Napili Beach so we didn't have to drive to one. I also think that the Cove is secluded verses most places on Maui.
  Our room was perfect for the 3 of us. I would not have changed anything.

  The property had undergone major reconstruction and we were the first people to occupy this unit in 10 months. The kitchen ware was a mixture from several units, the carpets needed cleaning, the grounds were still under repair. The location is fantastic and once the repairs are complete and the units reorganized it will be better than ever. I will stay here again because of what it will be not what it was this visit.
