The gated property surrounds a secluded cove with a breathtaking view of the nearby island of Molokai from every unit. The peaceful cove offers some of the best snorkeling on Maui, with an abundance of coral formations, tropical fish, and green sea turtles. A sparkling heated swimming pool only steps from your condominium adds to the dreamlike atmosphere of this tropical paradise.

Become one of our Return Guests who return year after year! Unit is always in the shade so no sun shades are required as in other Units, and is not adjacent to the Parking lot so there is less noise.

NEW TO VACATION CONDO RENTAL? If you're used to giant hotels with mile-long hallways, you'll find Honokeana Cove a refreshing change. You won't have hotel features like daily maid service, 24 hour desk, restaurant, gym or spa. Instead, you'll enjoy comfortable condos with full kitchen, bath and bedroom(s), perfect for couples, families and groups to relax together. We're not a "party" destination, because we keep quiet hours from 10 pm to 8 am. There are just 38 units in this gated oceanfront property, featuring basking sea turtles and never ending sunsets. We can't wait to welcome you!

Enhanced Cleaning and Disinfection: All Honokeana Cove units are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before every guest. Housekeepers use EPA hospital-grade disinfectant sprays and cleaning agents with extra attention to all high-touch surfaces. All dishware including plates, bowls, glassware, coffee cups and silverware is washed at high temperature settings. All soft surfaces, including couches, occasional chairs and mattresses are sprayed with a disinfectant to assure cleanliness and safety. Linens and towels are washed with the highest heat temperature and additional drying time, to ensure proper sanitization.

Cancellations and Refunds: Bookings cancelled more than 30 days prior to check-in will receive refund of deposit less $50 cancellation fee. Less than 30 days prior to arrival date, cancellation forfeits the rental amount. However, if health or a personal issue causes you to cancel, contact the rental office. Guests are strongly encouraged to obtain trip insurance for protection from unforeseen circumstances.

Add Hawaii tax (17.416%; 17.962% effective 1/1/2024) & one cleaning fee to all rates. Specify your total number of guests of all ages for an accurate rate quote.

Free Parking for one vehicle. No Resort Fee. Hawaii taxes remitted by Honokeana Cove Rental Association LLC, Tax ID 067-626-5984-01. This unit has ceiling fans for temperature control.

  Loved the layout and cleanliness of unit 202, and the view, straight down into the cove. Birdseye view of the cove's main habitants, the turtles. Everyday we saw 10-12 turtles arrive and depart the shore. The view of the cove and across to Molokai was fabulous! The grounds are well maintained, and we love Su. It was our 5th visit to Honokeana Cove and we've already booked another trip there for next year!

  We traveled the Road to Hana and beyond but should have left earlier in the morning - so much to investigate! We did a zip-line tour above Lahaina with beautiful ocean and island views - it was so easy and safe! I snorkeled at least once every day and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We came to relax and unwind and found the perfect place to lounge and explore and play in the ocean. Thank you!!!

  We loved are stay. It's a small condominium development surrounding a small rocky Cove. There is a central courtyard with grass and seating surrounding a lovely pool. There is no real sand along the shore at this development, instead there is a rocky shoreline which makes it difficult to get into the water safely as the rocks can be slippery. But it is well worth the effort to snorkel in the cove. The c ove has turtles that like to crawl up on the rocky shore.

  This place was great. We are a family of four with two teenage boys and it was perfect for us. The place was clean and well stocked. The cove had great snorkeling and drive time to other areas, like Old Lahaina, was usually around 15 minutes. It’s only a 10 minute walk to Napili beach which was beautiful and had good waves for boogie boarding. The only downside for us were the outdoor grills other families were using throughout the day. The trade winds blow in the direction of the balconies and often the cooking smell was a little over powering depending on what was being cooked. It would not prevent us from staying there again.

  Honokeana Cove does not disappoint! It's a quiet, small little place and the grounds are immaculate. I probably wouldn't recommend this place for small kiddos because there's no sandy beach, and the entry into the water is not the easiest for littles or for less able-bodied people. However, the view, the turtles, and the snorkeling is phenomenal. The units are all different, so you just have to try to find the unit that best fits your needs based on pictures and description on the website. The units themselves are in pretty good overall condition, with the typical wear and tear of the tropics. Units are generally clean, although on our last visit, our microwave hadn't been cleaned inside, and was full of condensation and bacon grease from the previous guests...yuck! But, we took it in stride, and cleaned it out ourselves. Not a huge deal. Overall, this is our favorite place to stay in Maui! The weather does tend to be a bit rainier here in the Napili area than other areas, but it's very easy to find the sun if you want it by going over to Ka'anapali or Lahaina. If you like to snorkel, this is the place for you!

  The vibe is a great place to stay away from the crowds. There is no beach though & access to the cove is across medium sized rounded rocks which makes it easy to slip & fall. So be careful. But it's fun to snorkel in the cove otherwise. The pool is small but fine. Lounge chairs are set up on the lawn for you. The condos are nice & all have ocean views. Each is owned individually & decorated by owner. There is a central management office. There are laundry facilities in 2 separate buildings. The staff are nice & grounds are well maintained.

  Amazing ocean views and great place to snorkel. It is like a private snorkel in a turtle sanctuary! We spent a lot of time in the lanai enjoying the views, watching the Honus come ashore and the whales breaching.   The condo and the grounds exceeded our expectations. The pictures really don't do it justice. We were especially impressed with the grounds and the attention to detail. It's like having your own botanical gardens right outside your door. It's evident that the groundskeeper is a plant lover and weaves everything together perfectly. The grills were great. One of the things my son enjoyed most was grilling and chilling in paradise at dusk. We also feel very lucky to have experienced the turtles. Being able to observe them swimming and sunning was an unexpected treat. Hope to come back someday.

  We've been to many places in the world, but always return to Honukeana Cove. The views are amazing, the snorkeling is great, excellent nearby restaurants....location location location! And without the crowds of so many resorts.
  
  Our only negatives had to do with the furnishings of our unit. The mattress is old and uncomfortable, the living room is overcrowded with furniture, and it is all a bit dingey and sad. If they'd freshen up the place, I'd have NOTHING bad to say about anything.

People come to just be, not do.

  We were captured by this Cove experience. The condo feels like you are sitting on the water from the deck. Views of turtles, sunsets, surfers, and even a great squall that blew through. Friendly community, Su will help with anything you need. Property is lush and tropical. We ate bananas off the tree. It is a close walk to sandy beaches but we were so happy in our surroundings at the Cove, we did not venture out much to other beaches to swim or snorkle. Condo is clean and comfortable, and has all you need to cook, blend up some beachy drinks, and relax. Close to Kaanapali, Lahaina for shopping, dining, music etc. Market nearby. We loved this property and will return.

  The view of the cove is great as is the landscaping. Condo 202 is a dump in need of major refurbishment. I am surprised that the rental office does not have minimal standards for the units. Obviously the owner of 202 does not or is unable to care for their unit.

    Aloha Jerry, I am terribly sorry you were not happy with this unit. This unit is not a dump. It is rented ninety percent of the time with return guests who have been coming to unit 202 for over 25 years. Maybe your expectations were a bit high for our property. This owner takes pride in his unit and is constantly making improvements. The upholstery was replaced this year and the drapes. The owner has more renovations happening this month while we were are closed for six weeks. It would have been nice for you to come to me in the office while you were here to let me know you were not happy or had problems. I can not help if I hear of this after you have left. I try my best to make sure that all guests; return or new are happy with their accommodations. I sincerely hope you will return to the cove for a better experience.   This is a special place for us having stayed here several times over the years. We took the local oath not to tell anyone else about this place, so I'm breaking the first rule of Honokeana. Sue will take care of any issues or information you need to make your stay special. Each condo has it's owners' character. Some are modern but all are delightful. There is "nothing" not to like about Honokeana, just please do not pet the turtles, it transfers human bacteria through their hard shell. If you bump into one while snorkeling, it happens but don't touch.
  
  Should you come in November the waves will most likely be stronger and you will have a tough time snorkeling at times but I can tell you there are plenty of tranquil days you have the bay at it's brilliant best.
  
  This is not like staying at a giant resort, if you need that sort of thing look to Kaanapali.
  
  The property is immaculate and well maintained. The setting alone is spectacular. From the moment you arrive you will be transported to the Hawaii you thought was long gone.
  
  But please don't tell anyone I told you all this it's supposed to be secret.

  This was a wonderful location in Napili! Views were incredible. Sunsets were equally beautiful on the clear nights we were there. We made good use of the BBQ's provided by the pool. Did we mention the Sea Turtles? We saw 1-7 each afternoon, resting on the Cove rocks. Napili market was very close and we shopped each day for papayas and apple bananas. Napili, Kapalua and DT Fleming Beaches were close by. Don't forget to visit Kaanapali Beach and restaurants. Thanks to all the Honokeana staff for a wonderful vacation.

  Overall was a great place. Awesome location - sat on the lanai and was entertained by the turtles in the cove, and surfers catching the waves just beyond the cove - when the surf was high enough. Snorkeling was OK but not great, and is a challenge getting into and out of the cove due to many large rocks - had to be careful not to get hurt. Wonderful beaches neighboring to the north - Napili beach in walking distance, Kapalua Beach next to it, DT Fleming beach further up around the bend. Rental Unit had everything we needed. Personally I would have liked an air conditioner in the bedroom. Although there is airflow through the unit, I find it too hot to comfortably fall asleep. Minor slip-up was they initially gave me a key to the wrong unit - I thought they changed units on me, and the key was for a unit already occupied! Was resolved as soon as I called the manager.

During the summer months the cove is like a lake; awesome snorkeling. Air conditioning is normally not needed here in Napili; the Trade winds keep us cool.   This is a lovely and well equipped second story unit with an awesome view of Honokeana Cove and Molokai Island. The snorkeling is the best we've found on Maui.   We were very pleased to return to the Cove after the construction work was completed. The grounds looked great, the new security gates are quite effective in reducing unauthorized visitors and also provide a bit of security which we appreciate. Highest compliments to Greg and especially Su - they are very much a reason for our repeat visits to Honokeana. Congrats on getting the big repair project and grounds upgrade done - the new grass is also an improvement. We have friends (Fishers in 203)who stayed at the Cove for part of our visit - we recommended the Cove years ago and they stay there now - and they've told us that after we left a party checked in that were causing lots of problems - noisy, drinking, foul language, etc. Su and Greg will know them - they stayed above Greg's unit and he had to intervene to quiet them down and Su posted the "quiet time" rules on their door...our friends say their vacation has been ruined by these unruly guests. In the interest of ensuring a pleasant stay for long time returning customers (the Culkins in 202 and the Fishers in 203) can the unruly guests NOT be allowed to make future reservations? If I experienced what the Fishers went through I would not book future stays at Honokeana.
