We keep it up to date, sharpening the Henckel kitchen knives & replacing worn cookware. There are table settings to serve 8. There's no food processor or large stand mixer, but we have a blender, mini food chopper, electric hand mixer, electric can opener & coffee grinder.

  Our unit was gorgeous and so well equipped! Not only could we walk right out to the lawn, then a few more steps to the ocean to snorkel with turtles or use the pool, we were able to enjoy the sun setting right from our lanai in April! This condo was the most well equipped unit we have ever rented, having everything you would ever want. Even the knives were sharp! We truly appreciate the care the owners put into their unit and their excellent communication! There was snorkel gear available for use, great maps and info about Maui, beach chairs and an ice chest. Plus, two air conditioners if the weather is hot. You will not be disappointed if you book 114.
  Honokeana Cove is the best place to rent if you like to snorkel. Easy access to the cove, which has MANY resident sea turtles and clear water with lots of different fish. The swimming pool is heated, so when you get out of the ocean water, you can dip into the pool and it is like having a hot tub! Although there is public access to the cove, it would be too tough for less agile people to get in and out. We are 75 and had zero problems with ocean access while staying at Honokeana Cove.

  This 2023 trip to Condo #114 was the makeup trip for an identical one we had to cancel in June, 2022, due to Cindy breaking a leg just 4 days before the 2022 trip was to begin.
  
  Honokeana office staff were great at transferring our payments from 2022 to the new 2023 reservation. Everything having to do with the office side of the reservation went smoothly, and we were kept informed of gate codes, etc.
  Condo #114 isa very well-appointed condo, and had a number of amenities provided by the owners we have not seen in other Honokeana units (we have stayed in three other Honokeana condos).
  
  We also very much appreciate the attention given to keeping the grounds, BBQ, pool and general facilities in good order.

  A perfect view of the cove, Molokai and sunsets. Great, easy access to snorkeling. The grounds are perfectly maintained. Our unit, 114 was perfectly located. The unit needs a bit of modernizing and WAY TOO MUCH furniture and art and knickknacks. The bottom sheets didn't really fit. The bed linens in general were old and of low quality, The sauce pans need replacement.

  Aloha! I’m so glad I booked this place! Steps away from a rocky cove with amazing snorkeling! Honokeana Cove is a smaller condo “resort” and I really enjoyed the vibe. I say “resort” because it is more a home away from home, and the other guests that I spoke with were mostly repeat guests or regulars which is telling. Unit #114 was perfect for us (myself and my partner.) I live on a lower floor apt. in my regular life so I was a little concerned about possible noise from above us, but it wasn’t really noticeable and I liked being able to access everything right from our lanai. The snorkel gear provided was good, didn’t need to rent. Everything was clean and maintained. The kitchen was well supplied! Cooking oil, basic spices too, which were a nice plus. Plenty of ice, freezer packs, a few storage containers, etc. you know, the stuff you forget you need until you need it! Some condiments like ketchup/mustard would have been nice but understandable they can’t keep stuff in the fridge because of sanitary reasons. The updated mattress was comfortable (don’t worry about the older reviews about the 2 Twins - it’s been handled!) Loved the black out curtains and air conditioning units for the hotter evenings. Beautiful cross-breeze most days. Nice shower, water pressure and storage for toiletries. Living room was comfortable- we didn’t need to use the fold out couch as a bed so can’t comment on that. A good collection of Maui travel books and info which was helpful. The smart TV is a little outdated - small glitch that we weren’t able to beam content from our devices to the TV, but we didn’t come to Maui for screen time! I found most guests were mindful of their volume and quiet hours but you will hear chit chat and kids playing outside from the lanai as it’s a small property.   We have stayed at Honokeana Cove a few times (and I stayed twice in my teens in the 70's). This unit had everything we needed and has a great view! The Cove has repaired itself over the past two years with new colors in the corals. So beautiful! The turtles now bask in the sun every day and you can just sit and enjoy their majesty. The unit has 2 air conditioners. DVD player (we bought two and left them for future guests). Plenty of water gear to use so check the closets and such before you go rent! A lot of stuff for kids there too. The bed needs replacing but I hear that is happening soon! As usual, we met lovely new friends and got to visit with the charming on site staff! Everyone at The Cove is like Ohana

  The one issue we had with this unit was the master bed, which was two twin beds put together, foam type topper on top, with a bump in the middle of the bed. For a two week stay, the bed was extremely uncomfortable, the pillows equally bad, and we did not have one good night of sleep because of it. Outside of the bed, it was a good unit, and of course, a great property in general.

While I fully understand the concern over Covid, I think the office personnel were unreasonable in refusing to talk to us from the distance of the open door with plexiglass in between/we were vaccinated & tested/and they had masks on. Overkill to say the least.

  We had a wonderful stay at Honokeana Cove. The bay was amazing for snorkeling and we saw 12 turtles our first day out. The pool and BBQ were great and very clean. We took several walks from the property and walked to happy hour/dinner at close restaurants. The property seems very secure with gate codes to enter. Parking was easy for our rental car. We loved our stay and will be back.

  First time 1983, and back many times. This is the best I've seen the grounds. Unit and contents really good and well thought out.
  
  Couple of thoughts: have the occassional adults only hour for the pool -- lots of kids doing jumps and cannon balls make it inconvenient to paddle about. I know that the Cove was required to remove the handrail into the cove some years ago, but as treacherous as it is for some to walk over the rocks it sure would be nice to engineer an alternative to getting in and out of the water safely.

  We had a wonderful stay in #114. Complex is great - quite, well maintained and on a private cove perfect for snorkeling. Unit is nicely furnished with some excellent extra touches. The extra window panes and a/c unit in the bedroom help with noise and comfort at night. There are plenty of extra outdoor supplies (snorkels, wake boards, etc). on hand as well. We had a great trip and would stay here again!

  This would have been a five start across the board, if the bed was not old & worn. It was a twin put together as a king. It had a giant lump running the length of the bed where the two mattress are put together. Then a squishy "topper" on top of that. Other than that, it was perfect. Both the owner, and the manager are aware of this. Perhaps they will replace the mattress soon. I would love to go back, if they do.

  WOW! I hate to give this 5 stars, because we want to keep this property a secret so the next time we book, it is available! :) Was pleasantly surprised at this property...the location, the view, the snorkeling, the grounds, friendly staff and guests! When we come back to the island, will book again at this location. This unit had everything we needed; snorkeling gear, boogie boards, pool noodles, coolers, umbrellas, hairdryer, etc. Art was very quick to respond to our questions. Great restaurants nearby to walk to, Gazebo and Sea House. Napili Market was a quick drive away and had wonderful poke and deli items. Napili and Kapalua beaches were amazing if you wanted a sandy beach.

  This was our second visit to Honokeana Cove, first time in unit #114, and we wouldn’t have had it any other way! This place is so welcoming and quiet with access to a serene rocky cove full of turtles and fish. The unit was clean and equipped with everything we could have needed, including snorkel gear, glass/cookware, games, and a handy set of binoculars to check out the early morning wildlife. Art and Nola (owners) were very kind to include a grocery voucher and recommendations to restaurants and nearby attractions. The sunset views are unmatched... it was a treat to be able to grab drinks/food, pull lounge chairs out to the lawn and watch the tiki-torch lit sunsets every evening. Wednesday is the weekly pot-luck style Pupu party where you can bring a dish and mingle with friendly neighbors. This was a quick trip to relax between job changes, and it didn’t disappoint. Only wish we could have stayed longer! Do yourself a favor and book your stay at the Cove!

  My husband and I just traveled to Maui as a part of honeymoon. We decided to split our stay between a condo and one of the big resorts to save a bit of money but ended up enjoying Honokeana just as much as any resort! The condo itself was just as described, with an even better view than can be captured in a picture! The bed was very comfortable and the unit was perfectly spacious for two people. The owners of the property generously provided a gift certificate for the local market, which we were able to use for some supplies for the week. The condo also included a set of snorkel and swimming equipment which we were able to use to see some turtles in the cove out back. Su the property manager is very friendly as well! All in all, we would highly recommend staying here!

  We stayed in #114. Everything you could possibly need was provided in the Unit including snorkeling items and boogie boards. Bed was iffy but we managed. The sofa bed was not good but most aren't. The owners of the unit have provided possible solutions but beds are beds and different for everyone. A huge wedding party had taken over most of the complex leaving not much options for others but we were there during Spring Break and that is risks of popular vacation times. The same thing happened when we were there 2 years ago in June. Property did not seem to be managed as well as it was on my last trip. Woke up every morning to left over party items on the grounds....not attractive in paradise. Tons of little kids so early times in the mornings but quiet by 10 pm so was doable. There were three in our party....three women. Bottom line is this complex with access to the turtles in the cove was wonderful. I've been here 4 times and still think it is the only place to stay and highly recommend Unit 114. If you have the chance, highly recommend Annabelle and Warren's Magic Show. A different activity from the usual attractions but worth every penny and I guarantee you will leave with your jaws hurting from laughter. Not your typical magic show. Make sure you eat at Aloha Plate....great food and good prices. If you eat at Bubba Gumps try the Iced Mai Tai...the best ever. Gave a 4 on overall satisfaction with our stay only because of the complex's non attention to printed rules but our unit itself was perfect. I know you will love it. Enjoy your trip.

The condo had everything we could ever need minus a comfy hideabed (we wonder if hideabeds were designed as disguised torture racks by some cruel furniture designer!)   Everything we were hoping for this trip to Maui. After many years visiting a family timeshare in
  Kaanapali, returning to Honokeana was definitely a great decision.
  #114 was beautifully furnished, to include first rate kitchen appliances, flatware, cookware & all that goes with a kitchen (including lots of spices, but also lovely & tasteful wall decor.
  Our unit was clean, the bed comfortable and everything in good working order. Didn't want for a single thing.
  The turtles were icing on the cake.

  We had the best vacation here. The snorkeling in the cove is amazing. It's sheltered from the waves, and full of fish and turtles. And it was just steps from our unit. We enjoyed the sunset over the ocean every night eating dinner outside. And unit 114 contained everything you need for a beach vacation. Along with a fully stocked kitchen, it was just like being at home. Condo sleeps 4, and the two kids slept on the sofa bed in the living room. I wouldn't recommend 4 adults staying over, but perfect for a family with 2 young kids. This is an amazing place to stay, and we look forward to returning in the future.

Snorkeling was a highlight along with beaches and dining (Merriman's and the Gazebo are "must do's"). Our unit (#114) was nicely appointed (a/c was a big plus), clean and with a great view of the the sunsets.

  The unit was full of everything and anything which was great for the beach and picnics around the island. The only negative was the bed. Was very uncomfortable as it is two singles pushed together with a piece of foam over the middle.. Also found the staff not very friendly on asking about the coin machine in the laundry and the ability to use the room on the day of check out to put our baby to sleep before our 10 hour flight home when no one else was checking in that day! We had a few of us for a wedding and prior to arrival I asked if they offered a group discount (which they didn't which is fine) but strange that they didn't create a group and but us all near each other which would have helped with the noise for other guests.

    Aloha Kylie, Our coin machine was out of order which is supervised by the resident manager. Our resident manager was fired while you were here so his duties were not being handled. We allow for late checkouts at one half the daily rate which was offered to you twice which you refused and you still did not leave the unit until 1 hour past checkout time. Your large group of 8 rooms created more noise than needed especially the first night carrying on until 3 am in the morning. We do not offer discounts for large groups. This complex is individually owned condos and rental monies are not pooled together; thus we can not offer discounts. I shall let the owner know about the bed situation since you are the very first to complain about it. Thank you for your comments. Su

  This condo exceeded our expectations and we hope to return again. The unit was very well equipped, from the variety of water "toys" to the selection of books, to the kitchen equipment. Honokeana Cove is a special place on Maui, particularly appropriate for older couples and families who are content with the simple pleasures of a beautiful snorkeling cove, ocean views, a small pool and a beautiful lawn area. It is an intimate property, with fewer than 40 units.

  The rental was fantastic! The views were just amazing. We ate out a few times but was able to cook some lunches/breakfasts thanks to the full kitchen. The room had an A/C if we wanted to use it (we didn't, it was surprisingly cool at night).
  
  The greatest thing about this property is the location. The snorkeling in the cove was just amazing. We lost count at how many sea turtles we saw. The water was fairly clear and the fish/coral were plentiful. I'd highly recommend any one of the condo's in this location!

  I didn't think that this unit could be any more attractive, but I was wrong. The improvements made to the kitchen, new cabinets, appliances and granite counter are wonderful. In the bedroom the new furniture and especially the air conditioner are most welcome, and the new lanai furniture make this unit, as always, the best.   Despite the craziness surrounding the pre hurricane part of our trip, there was no real storm on our part of the island. Other than wind, once the storm was over it was blue skies, snorkeling with turtles, running on the trails, lots of swimming in the pool, and great grilling on the Lanai.

  This was our 2nd stay at Honokeana Cove. We love this little hidden piece of "old Hawaii". The way the units are set up gives you a sense of a real community and with security gates now in place a sense of security. I do have a couple of suggestions. The cupboards are so full of glasses and dishes that there is no room for groceries so everything has to be stacked on the counters. It would be good to have one empty space. We found the mattress and pillows to be very uncomfortable. We had a two week stay and were not offered any housekeeping which I now know is available after a ten day stay. There is also a 5% discount after a ten day stay which was overlooked but corrected upon leaving. It might be a good thing to alert guests about tree trimming so they could plan some time away on that five your head was about to split open. I think unit 114 is the best one well equipped and the view is perfect for sunsets. We will be back...

  Our Stay was very peaceful over all. I snokled in the cove twice in the morning and both times was escorted by 6-8 large Turtles. The only down fall is the road directly behind our unit, and the garbage trucks beeper and lights at 3am one morning. Very beautiful place. We will be back.
