The gated property surrounds a secluded cove with a breathtaking view of the nearby island of Molokai from every unit. The peaceful cove offers some of the best snorkeling on Maui, with an abundance of coral formations, tropical fish, and green sea turtles. A sparkling heated swimming pool only steps from your condominium adds to the dreamlike atmosphere of this tropical paradise.

NEW TO VACATION CONDO RENTAL? If you're used to giant hotels with mile-long hallways, you'll find Honokeana Cove a refreshing change. You won't have hotel features like daily maid service, 24 hour desk, restaurant, gym or spa. Instead, you'll enjoy comfortable condos with full kitchen, bath and bedroom(s), perfect for couples, families and groups to relax together. We're not a "party" destination, because we keep quiet hours from 10 pm to 8 am. There are just 38 units in this gated oceanfront property, featuring basking sea turtles and never ending sunsets. We can't wait to welcome you!

Enhanced Cleaning and Disinfection: All Honokeana Cove units are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before every guest. Housekeepers use EPA hospital-grade disinfectant sprays and cleaning agents with extra attention to all high-touch surfaces. All dishware including plates, bowls, glassware, coffee cups and silverware is washed at high temperature settings. All soft surfaces, including couches, occasional chairs and mattresses are sprayed with a disinfectant to assure cleanliness and safety. Linens and towels are washed with the highest heat temperature and additional drying time, to ensure proper sanitization.

Cancellations and Refunds: Bookings cancelled more than 30 days prior to check-in will receive refund of deposit less $50 cancellation fee. Less than 30 days prior to arrival date, cancellation forfeits the rental amount. However, if health or a personal issue causes you to cancel, contact the rental office. Guests are strongly encouraged to obtain trip insurance for protection from unforeseen circumstances.

Add Hawaii tax (17.416%; 17.962% effective 1/1/2024) & one cleaning fee to all rates. Specify your total number of guests of all ages for an accurate rate quote.

Free Parking for one vehicle. No Resort Fee. Hawaii taxes remitted by Honokeana Cove Rental Association LLC, Tax ID 067-626-5984-01. This unit has ceiling fans for temperature control.

  Another amazing stay in a a beautiful location location location. While the weather was not the best, it didn’t keep us from being soaked to the skivvies walking back from dinner. Hysterical. Back to the condo. As others have said, this isn’t the Ritz and we love it just for that reason. 218 has one of the best views overlooking the cove. Sitting on the balcony you can watch the whales, the surfers, the turtles and the sunsets. Oh the sunsets. Also the rain brought in double rainbows everyday. You can be in the water within minutes with great snorkeling. The kitchen is very long and narrow so might be challenging for more than one cook. Thank you Su and Betty for replacing the well abused coffee maker. Knives were a bit abused as well but did the job. The condo is nicely decorated, beds were fine and the bathrooms nicely updated with great water pressure. Couch could use some replumping, but like I’ve said before, we love this place and will continue to come back!

  We had a wonderful weeklong stay in 218. The grounds are beautiful, the pool is great, the snorkeling and turtles were fabulous!   The Cove will always be our favorite place to stay. It has a stunning location, superb management and atmosphere. We really appreciate the small, low-rise, relaxing surroundings. Our unit, 120, could use a couple of improvements. The king-size bed's mattress is covered by a too-small foam pad that leaves a huge ridge between the edge of the bed and several inches in. I.e., the mattress should probably be replaced or at least get a king-size foam pad.. The kitchen eating utensils are a little sparse. It there are six guests, you run out of clean forks, spoons, etc., pretty often. All the glasses and plates are plastic.We added four stemless wine glasses. There were only four of the plastic ones. However, all in all, 120 is a great unit with a fantastic view. Really like the new sofa. (New to us. We hadn't been there in 2 years.) We love the Honokeana Cove and wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else. (Do hope that we can still afford it in the coming years.)

  I've been avoiding writing a review, because I want to keep Honokeana Cove all to myself. I don't want too many people to discover the walk-in aquarium right in front of the condo, the panoramic ocean views, the turtles basking on the rocks, the whales leaping in the distance, the swaying palm trees or the cozy, friendly personality of this place.
  
  This was our second stay, and we plan to come back for many more. Unit #218 was great for two couples - one upstairs and one downstairs. The furnishings were clean and modern and the layout suited us well, with plenty of room for meals on the balcony, and cool breezes to keep us comfy while sleeping. The location is also superb - we enjoyed walking the Kapalua Coastal Trail daily, including Devil's Teeth, and taking advantage of all the great restaurants and takeout options within a half mile of the condo.
  
  If you're looking for a high-end, air-conditioned, luxury resort on a white-sand beach, this isn't it. If you're looking to relax in a quiet, cozy, comfortable cove with unsurpassed views - both above and under the water - you've found it. Just please, don't tell anyone.

The only complaint was not having a 3rd bathroom, and the kitchen was not real well equipped for 6 people. Otherwise it was perfect!!

  Pros:
  The location cannot be beat. The complex is right on a secluded bay that is not easy to access unless you are staying here. The grounds of the complex were well-maintained. Unit 218 itself is perfectly-situated right on the water. It is also farther away from the road than other units, so that reduces the road noise. There was an assortment of beach gear including several chairs and a nice Tommy Bahama umbrella in one of the closets, which was a nice surprise.
  Cons:
  The mattress in the master downstairs bedroom needs to be replaced. It was worn down and extremely uncomfortable. I am not a large person (5'9", 170 lbs) so it wasn't a "me" issue. The couch needs to be replaced or repaired. As other reviewers have noted, one end sags significantly. My 3-star rating for "the property's general condition" reflects these issues (the condition of the overall complex itself is a 5-star).

  Starting with the negative...When we arrived, at the worst possible time around 4 PM, the place was hot and we figured out no AC right before arriving. (My fault for not looking specifically for AC) We are Texans so AC is a must! However, I will say after we opened all the windows, it did cool off and some other guests that have gone to this place for years said this was the hottest year and that usually it is fine with no AC. Everything else was fantastic. We loved the location and the quiet of the place. The pool was small but not crowded ever! Highlight was the ability to walk out your door to the most fantastic snorkeling in Honokeana Cove. I would definetly return if I can talk the hubby into trying again at a cooler time. If you are not from Texas, and are accustomed to no AC, I would rent this in a heartbeat.

  We have been hesitant to review our stay for selfish reasons. We don’t want more people to find out about this jewel! We have stayed in Honokeana Cove many times over the years, but this was our first stay in condo 218. The space worked perfect for our family. The only thing we would suggest is some kind of air conditioner. There is direct sun coming in during the afternoons. The Cove is well managed and has a super friendly atmosphere. The view is breathtaking and every afternoon we would look over the rail of the lanai and watch the turtles come up on the rocks to rest in the sun. We walked to the Gazebo, Kitchen 5315, and the Sea House for food. We celebrated a family birthday at Merriman’s. Topped off with a sunset cruise on Trilogy, the entire stay was great. We loved snorkeling in the bay, sitting on the lanai watching the turtles, strolling to Napili Bay and costal trail, etc. Only complaint is that the sofa in the unit needed repair (webbing support was broken) - an easy fix that would make the living room more usable:). This is a special place.

  Location and the staff were excellent. Personnel was friendly and helpful with the problems in the unit. The unit was not clean, with dust on the bathroom wall and objects behind the furniture. The TV was not attached properly and the toaster worked poorly. Screens were not in and others easily fell out with the wind. Most problems were fixed by the staff. These problems should have been taken care of before our arrival.

  If you want a place right on the water, this is it! Units in this building in particular are as close as one can get without actually being suspended over the water. Note that this cove has a rocky bottom and shore, which makes entry a little tricky for some, but the fantastic snorkeling is well worth the effort. The cove is a favorite of the turtles, and you will see many from your balcony even if you never get in the water. There is a nice variety of fish, eels, and corals as well. This is one of the best snorkeling spots on Maui but fortunately the cove is so small that the guide books overlook it. Many other great bays and beaches in the area too. When you want to play on a sandy beach, Napili Beach is a very short walk (or swim around the point) to the next cove north. This small, quiet complex has a very friendly feel, especially at sunset when everyone is enjoying the view from their balcony and the BBQ's by the pool.

  We loved Honokeana cove. Unit 218 overlooks the bay allowing for a perfect view of the turtles below. We saw 22 rainbows over the bay. The grounds were beautiful and it felt like we had our own private pool. The unit itself has had some updating. New kitchen cabinets, updating lower bathroom. Some updates still need addressing, such as the lighting, shutters, curtains, and carpet. We easily overlooked all of those small details considering the amazing view and unique experience of being able to snorkel outside our door in one of the best spots in Maui. 2 nice surf breaks out front as well.

  We have stayed at this resort twice now because we love the location. The cove is our favorite place to snorkel anywhere in Hawaii. This condo had a perfect view of sunsets at night and rainbows in the morning. There is the perfect rental store just a 1/2 block away at the beach next door. We also rented a SUP for the day.
  The owner still has some work to do to update the condo, like get rid of the green carpet, but it did seem clean. I would stay here again in a heart beat!

  This is a perfect place to relax by the ocean. Not a lot of people as it is a private resort. One of things that needs updating in this unit are the beds( not very comfortable)I would put a king bed upstairs also. Will be going back for sure!

  This unit is in bad need of an update. The pots and pans must be from Salvation Army. Could not even clean them as there was no scrub sponge or cleanser to do the job. Most of the tables were glass and there was not any glass spray to clean them. Lights were missing and the globe covera were absolutely gone in the downstairs bathroom and in the loft. Glass window panes were not working. Seems to miss any pride of ownership. The refrig had water dripping most of the days. So on the plus side it is right next to the cove and the waves were very relaxing for sleep and hanging out. I read some similar reviews from Nov 2014 and it is unfortunate that no action was taken to improve things. We were very comfortable despite these short comings. It is such a nice atmosphere on the whole. Sure hope some improvements will be made.

  Great location and Fantastic Condo #218. Our condo had extra stuff like beach chairs, snorkle gear, umbrella and beach toys which was a bonus for our visit.   Spacious ocean front condo with beautiful grounds and a bay that is teeming with turtles! This was an ideal place to stay with 2 kids (3 yrs and 9 months). The location is ideal: we could walk to Napilli and play on the sand or in the tidepools, short drive to Kanapali for the boardwalk and restaurants or just hang in our condo for the afternoon. Sue and Greg made us feel so welcome and the small scale of the development was much more personal than a giant hotel complex. We can't wait to some back!

  The cove is beautiful and relaxing. Enjoyed sitting outside and watching the turtles from dawn to dusk. Snorkeling was amazing. #218 is a little dated but served our needs. Would recommend the cove to others.

  Recommended to us by neighbors who have been staying at this resort for nearly 20 years, I can see why they keep going back. Shared unit with 5 folks for 5 days. Unanimous thumbs up. Many turtles, tropical fish to be seen while snorkeling in front "yard". Great sunset views. Near all facilities. Well managed. Other units a bit close for my taste but polite fellow guests. Would recommend to a friend without hesitation.

  Nice location in West Maui with a good view. Large, spacious unit with 2 bathrooms. This unit could use some upgrading, especially the kitchen and its supplies. For example, there were at least 20 pot lids but only 2 pots of dubious quality. The utensils and cutlery are thrift store quality and some are barely functional. Dishes were mis-matched and not something you would expect when paying this price. Unit could use a thorough cleaning as well (e.g. lamps, baseboards, furniture). We enjoyed our stay overall at this condo complex.

  Our goal was a nice place with easy access to great snorkeling, and that's just what we got. Can't beat a lanai overlooking sea turtles! Glad we brought a couple binoculars to watch the whales in March. Accommodations overall comfortable, clean and convenient. Management very helpful booking this unit, as it initially wasn't going to be available. They also promptly replaced a missing DVD cable. Not perfect: quarter mile walk to beach at Napili Bay, 1-person kitchen, back bedroom overhears the early morning risers having their coffee in the unit behind.
