The gated property surrounds a secluded cove with a breathtaking view of the nearby island of Molokai from every unit. The peaceful cove offers some of the best snorkeling on Maui, with an abundance of coral formations, tropical fish, and green sea turtles. A sparkling heated swimming pool only steps from your condominium adds to the dreamlike atmosphere of this tropical paradise.

NEW TO VACATION CONDO RENTAL? If you're used to giant hotels with mile-long hallways, you'll find Honokeana Cove a refreshing change. You won't have hotel features like daily maid service, 24 hour desk, restaurant, gym or spa. Instead, you'll enjoy comfortable condos with full kitchen, bath and bedroom(s), perfect for couples, families and groups to relax together. We're not a "party" destination, because we keep quiet hours from 10 pm to 8 am. There are just 38 units in this gated oceanfront property, featuring basking sea turtles and never ending sunsets. We can't wait to welcome you!

Enhanced Cleaning and Disinfection: All Honokeana Cove units are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before every guest. Housekeepers use EPA hospital-grade disinfectant sprays and cleaning agents with extra attention to all high-touch surfaces. All dishware including plates, bowls, glassware, coffee cups and silverware is washed at high temperature settings. All soft surfaces, including couches, occasional chairs and mattresses are sprayed with a disinfectant to assure cleanliness and safety. Linens and towels are washed with the highest heat temperature and additional drying time, to ensure proper sanitization.

Cancellations and Refunds: Bookings cancelled more than 30 days prior to check-in will receive refund of deposit less $50 cancellation fee. Less than 30 days prior to arrival date, cancellation forfeits the rental amount. However, if health or a personal issue causes you to cancel, contact the rental office. Guests are strongly encouraged to obtain trip insurance for protection from unforeseen circumstances.

Add Hawaii tax (17.416%; 17.962% effective 1/1/2024) & one cleaning fee to all rates. Specify your total number of guests of all ages for an accurate rate quote.

Free Parking for one vehicle. No Resort Fee. Hawaii taxes remitted by Honokeana Cove Rental Association LLC, Tax ID 067-626-5984-01. This unit has air conditioning in the bedroom; there are also ceiling fans.

  We love it here- the small friendly relaxed atmosphere to say nothing of the spectacular views and snorkeling. Of special note this trip was the significant regrowth of the coral in the cove- beautiful. The overall property is so well maintained and all the management processes are very thorough and timely. As for dining, our absolute favorite is Merriman’s in Kapalua ($$$) but worth it! For quick meals there are several good options in the Napili market complex nearby. We like to cook on-site and visit with fellow guests around the BBQs.

  We went to Honokeana Cove for 4 nights in May, 2022. The complex is small and beautiful. Our unit, #108, had snorkeling equipment, 2 beach chairs, a free-standing AC unit in the bedroom only (we didn't use it), and a well-appointed kitchen. The cleverly-placed mirror on the living room wall gave us the ability to see the ocean from inside, while at the same time, we were on the side of the L-shaped complex that receives less direct sun, so we didn't need to keep our drapes closed, which wouldn't let you enjoy the ocean view. We had enough room around our dining table and the balcony to host a dinner and happy hour for 6 total people. Though we had sporadic brief rain showers, it didn't keep us from doing anything we wanted -except a golf trip. The snorkeling was wonderful! Wearing a long-sleeved "rash guard" shirt helped me stay warm, though most others felt no need for that layer. The fish were more numerous than I expected due to global warming losses, and the turtles were abundant and so fun to swim with, while staying out of their way as much as we could. The site has a pool that we didn't use, and BBQ grills, 3 big nice ones. The chairs overlooking the water and rocks let you watch turtles crawling out to sun themselves. Solar generator behind our unit made intermittent noise during the night with windows open. But not bothersome if you run the AC, windows closed, reportedly. Close to nearby shopping, & some restaurants, but not very safely walkable, no sidewalks.

  This property felt like home. Comfortable, relaxing, beautiful and convenient location. Having access to both a pool and a prime snorkeling spot was a bonus. Our stay was during whale season and we enjoyed watching them breaching every day. Sea turtles fill the cove and are frequently seen resting on the rocky shore in front of the resort. Each unit has a private lanai and there are also comfy chairs beside the pool and the shore. You won’t want to leave! We’ve already booked a two week stay for next year.

The only things that the owners might think about are the TV in the bedroom is a postage stamp way to small and the sink in the bathroom backs up with water after a few seconds.   I don't want to stay anywhere else when we visit Maui. The Cove is a an Oasis that is one of the most wonderful places to stay. Swimming with the turtles was amazing, the management was great, ammenities very welcome! The only drawback is the entrance to the Cove - no handrails down the walk to the steps - hazardous. The rocks were slimy and a fall risk. Better directions on where to enter the cove and warnings would be wonderful. I would not let this stop me from visiting again. A truly amazing vacation rental!

  This condo is in a great location. We loved looking down on resting turtles and watching surfers tackle the big waves winter weather brought us. As to the unit inside it needs all new pots and pans—cooking there was a challenge as knives were cheap and so dull they wouldn’t even sharpen! I’d also recommend a set of plastic plates, bowls, and glasses as there were none so couldn’t enjoy even taking a glass for water to the pool let alone a cocktail. If you come, ask for ant bait. The little buggers are kitchen wizards.

  We enjoyed our stay at Honokeana Cove, this is the 3rd time we have stayed at this property. Unit #108 has a portable A/C in the bedroom only, and we were surprised by the sweltering heat in the living room / kitchen / bath area (2019 has been the hottest summer in several decades, and the cooling trade winds did not start up as soon as expected). We used fans in the main rooms, but wished the entire unit had air conditioning. The unit is nicely maintained, the indoor furnishings are very nice & the kitchen is fully outfitted. The unit has a lovely view of the cove, and is on the "shady side" of the condo complex. But because this unit #108 is not an "end unit", we weren't able to get sufficient cross ventilation indoors. We spent a lot of time in the ocean and in the pool, and holed up in the air-conditioned bedroom, to escape the oppressive heat indoors.

  We love Honokeana Cove and have come once a year for the last 25 years!
  We have stayed in several different units over the years. The one downside of unit 108 is the bird poop from the tree. Other than that I really like being in the lower units because of the easy access to the garden and the water.
  The unit itself was good: nice kitchen, comfy bed, but the chairs on the balcony could be a bit better.

  This is our 5th visit to the cove and we loved it at always... the views, the turtles, and the relaxed and quiet atmosphere. The staff is excellent and always helpful. This particular unit was disappointing in that the “living room”furniture is dirty and very uncomfortable. There is not even a comfortable throw pillow in the place. The kitchen sink faces the back wall opposite any view, and is small and awkwardly shaped. The refrigerator is apartment size, and there’s a note on it that says not to overfill it so your food doesn’t freeze, (Our water bottles did freeze in the back of it), and not to put too much weight into the door shelves. Assuming that most guests shop at Costco before arriving, that made it challenging not to “overfill”. The bed pillows were also very uncomfortable hard foam. The blender was disgusting and moldy, and a micro plane found in the drawer still had crusty old cheese on it. The bathroom is very outdated. There’s a tree outside the unit that birds enjoy, so lots of droppings outside. On a positive note, the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed (and we like to cook most of our meals) plates, cups, pots, utensils, etc. There’s all kinds of beach equipment available. I would say that this unit is fine if you prefer spending most of your time outside.

  Honokeana Cove what is the best secret kept in Maui. We were so blessed to have stayed there. It was my dad‘s 80th birthday. We rented three condos all together and I have nothing to complain about at all. I loved the site managers They were awesome and so helpful. We got to go snorkeling with the turtles hang out with the other guests of the condominium complex. We went around town and saw so much. I will be back as soon as I can.   Wonderful, one constant issue in Condo 108, TV instructions did now work, need to be revised every time we turned on the TV we had difficulties. CRYSTAL in the office IS AMAZING, she come over 2 times to help work the television. Remote are work off, needed new batteries as they were corroded, should keep spares in drawer. Office personal Su and Crystal are the best ever, couldn't ask for more amazing people to make your stay wonderful !!!!

  This was our second stay at the Cove, first in Unit 108. Sue, Crystal, and the other property caretakers are the best - no lie - the BEST! The owners of the unit have made it very easy to not have to leave the Cove by providing everything guests could possibly need - snorkeling equipment, beach towels, kitchen tools. The Cove is perfect for snorkeling and watching the turtles (plenty of turtles!). During the Spring, the whales can be seen. Beautiful views from the lanai. Be sure to eat breakfast at The Gazebo - but get there early. Merriman's is close and a great place for drinks and appetizers. Because of the unit's location near the property office, it can get a bit noisy when the gate is opened and closed and when guests make their way to their units.

We love to snorkel and there is such good access here as you have the whole cove to yourself just outside your door. The only thing we would do different next time is to avoid coming in summer.   Totally pleasant and relaxing. The apartment was lovely and the view from the deck spectacular. It's wonderful to walk out the door and into the water. The minor issues are hardly worth mentioning. We had a little trouble figuring out the remote operation for the TV--for instance the search procedure. Since last time we were at the Cove, the ramp into the water was removed, and it made it a bit less convenient getting out. The condition of the property was nice, but the noise from lawnmower and other power equipment was fairly frequent and loud.

I am sorry that you were here during our lawn mowing, etc. Our new grass has to be mowed less frequently than most; you just happen to hit the one day out of the month that we had to mow. The ramp into the water was removed over five years ago. We now have an entrance at the South side with some stairs going into the sandy part of the Cove.   I was attracted to Honokeana Cove Rentals because of its location on a lovely private bay that was perfect for snorkeling with turtles. Its motto is "Maui's Best Kept Secret" and that is the truth. Most of the guests seemed to be owners and repeat visitors. Everyone was friendly (if a little noisy) and the management staff were excellent. The condo was spotless (thank you!!) and very comfortable with everything we needed. Snorkeling was very good and we saw turtles every day, and lots of whales in the distance. Beautiful Napili Bay beach is right around the point, and the trails through Kapalua are also close.
  The only negatives were that this in West Maui, just north of Lahaina, and the traffic and tourist crowds can be very very bad. Sadly, this is not the place for people who crave an away-from-it-all vacation. At night and early morning the road noise is quite apparent from the bedroom, and most nearby restaurants are crowded with long lines. Lahaina was a zoo. And the condo complex is small; you are going to hear and see your neighbors all day and evening. For that reason we will not be returning. But if you are a people person and want a convenient, clean, well-managed location near Lahaina with its own private snorkel cove, this is it!

  Our unit was GREAT!!!. Unit 108 was cozy comfortable and well stocked kitchen. The HUGH tv made for great movie watching. We really appreiciated the guide for operating the tv bluray etc. I loved having a tv in the bed room. The furniture and bed were very comfortable. It would have been nice to have at least a roll of toilet paper on the holder. when we checked in there was no toilet paper to be found. The office was closed luckily the market was just up the street. The snorkleling in the bay was wonderful. I just love those turtles. The "surf was up" for several days. we enjoyed watching the surfers "tearing up the waves. We will return to Honokeana Cove again

  We reserved our condo when the price of the unit was $10.00 a night more, but when we arrived the price had dropped and when asked, we were not give the lessor price. Since we stayed 17 nights that is a loss to us of over $170.00. That would be like buying a loaf of bread today at last week price of #3.00 when it was lowered to $2.50.

  We have been at Honokeana Cove before 4 times. We love it. So private & quiet. We'll be back. Glad to see that some of the units are being updated finally. The grounds look great, even despite the recent repairs that were necessary to the buildings.
