NEW TO VACATION CONDO RENTAL? If you're used to giant hotels with mile-long hallways, you'll find Honokeana Cove a refreshing change. You won't have hotel features like daily maid service, 24 hour desk, restaurant, gym or spa. Instead, you'll enjoy comfortable condos with full kitchen, bath and bedroom(s), perfect for couples, families and groups to relax together. We're not a "party" destination, because we keep quiet hours from 10 pm to 8 am. There are just 38 units in this gated oceanfront property, featuring basking sea turtles and never ending sunsets. Enhanced Cleaning and Disinfection: All Honokeana Cove units are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before every guest. Housekeepers use EPA hospital-grade disinfectant sprays and cleaning agents with extra attention to all high-touch surfaces. All dishware including plates, bowls, glassware, coffee cups and silverware is washed at high temperature settings. All soft surfaces, including couches, occasional chairs and mattresses are sprayed with a disinfectant to assure cleanliness and safety. Linens and towels are washed with the highest heat temperature and additional drying time, to ensure proper sanitization.

Cancellations and Refunds: Bookings cancelled more than 30 days prior to check-in will receive refund of deposit less $50 cancellation fee. Less than 30 days prior to arrival date, cancellation forfeits the rental amount. However, if health or a personal issue causes you to cancel, contact the rental office. Guests are strongly encouraged to obtain trip insurance for protection from unforeseen circumstances.

Add Hawaii tax (17.416%; 17.962% effective 1/1/2024) and one cleaning fee to all rates. Specify your total number of guests of all ages for an accurate rate quote.

  Our unit was perfect, we prefer bottom floor units, and had brought my 81 year old mom this trip that had never been to Hawaii, much less Maui. She loved the quaintness of the cove. We’ve been coming for over 25 years, so know what to expect, although the rain was more than usual for us, but we’ve never been in January, still enjoyed watching the turtles and sitting with the tiki torches! Only drawback which is why I gave 2 stars for cleanliness, several dishes and knife from the knife block were dirty! More detail to cleaning dishes could be considered!

  We had a very pleasant stay in unit 106. This condo has a great view and, like all the other units here, was a short walk to the pool and the cove. The snorkeling in the cove was as good as anywhere I've been on Maui. We saw lots of turtles and a variety of tropical fish. The unit was clean and well stocked but somewhat dated in appearance. I wouldn't hesitate to come back but would encourage the owners to invest a little in updating things.

  Our vacation rental experience was a dream. We loved our condo. It had the perfect view of the pool and cove. We could see the ocean and pool perfectly from inside and sitting on the patio. This condo has an amazing amount of windows in living room which make it so tropical, bright and open! It’s a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo and it was perfect for my family of 4. The only downside was the busy noise of cars on the street and other guests coming and going through the gate located right next to master bedroom. Everything else was absolutely perfect. It’s still worth staying here even with the noise at night for the views and lay out of this corner unit!

  Another wonderful vacation in Honokeana. We enjoyed our unit. It was very convenient. It was clean. The kitchen was a little lacking in plastic glasses. Some of utensils needed to be replaced. Kitchen was not very well organized and difficult to use. The no knob cabinets were confusing. There was a pantry but it was full of stuff that wouldn’t be used. Both closets wer small and baskets of snorkeling gear and extra linens took up much of that room. Over all it worked.

  Very pleasant stay. I will compliment the management as they where very easy to communicate with and always quick with replies to questions prior to arrival. As other reviews have mentioned the seclusion of the property was amazing, yet access to the beach or town was only minutes away. The unit was stocked with all of the essentials a family may need. Huge kudos to having quality cutlery in the kitchen. I know it is a small thing, but for a a kitchen person it does not go un-noticed.While not a complaint by any means, i would suggest new hinges on some of the cabnitry as I felt like I was going to break them trying to close them. A/C would be a massive help to the unit. Even in January the unit was warm and with the windows open at night sleep was difficult with the road noise and wind. Bear in mind this is coming from a light sleeper. Masking during COVID should be universal.
  If I have to wear one going to the grill, then one would think the folks doing yoga in the common areas should get an email reminder as well. Again these suggestions would not keep me from return to the same unit..simply suggestions. Thank you

  Magical. This property is simply amazing. I hate to even go on and on and let the secret out, but I can tell you you won't be disappointed. The unit itself is very nice and clean and so convenient for going back and forth to the pool and ocean. I do wish they had nicer/softer linens but that is about the only critique I can think of. I would book again tomorrow in a heartbeat.
  The cove is really something special. The snorkeling is amazing and the sea turtles are beyond amazing.
  It is a quiet complex, so not the place to go if you are looking for nightlife, etc. But if you are looking for a quiet, relaxed atmosphere, this is for you. We were there over spring break and although the island was quite crowded, it sure didn't feel like that once back at the condo.
  Only other critique....the upstairs unit must have tile floors and bar stools...seemed like we heard the people moving/talking more than we would've liked.

  This was our second stay at Honokeana Cove, but our first in this unit. The location of 106 is just about perfect- steps to the pool and water, no long stairs to climb as with second story, and much cooler than units facing directly west. Unit has lots of louvered windows that allow good cross ventilation also. It is very close to the office, laundry and trash. The kitchen is OK, although the layout is awkward and the hallway bathroom has been recently redone and is very nice (hairdryer included). Bath in master bedroom is quite small with absolutely no place to place toiletries- bring a hanging dopp kit. Overall, highly recommended and we would definitely stay there again.

  We chose Honokeana Cove condos because we wanted access for snorkeling in the cove. We stayed at another nearby condo complex twice before and could not find easy entry into the cove for snorkeling. Honokeana Cove condos solved that problem! We really enjoyed snorkeling with turtles and fish, and seeing the turtles up on the rocks sunbathing.
  The complex is clean and well maintained. Our 2 bedroom unit was smaller than many condos but perfectly adequate. It was clean. There is some noise as the units are close together, and the lanais don’t afford much privacy. That said, we plan to return and enjoy the beautiful cove that is right there.

Snorkeling was ok, but there didn't seem to be as many fish and turtles as before, but that may have to do with the time of year. The highlight was seeing whales spouting, and breaching outside the cove, but easily viewable from our lanai and by the pool.

The view is beautiful, everything you need is at hand and the place is quiet/peaceful. This is not a party place (exactly what we wanted). It is a comfortable drive to Lahaina, but a car is a necessity. I would highly recommend it and hope to return another time!

  We enjoyed our stay immensely. The location is great. The landscaping is immaculately maintained. The snorkeling in the bay is good not great but every adventure presents lots of turtles. The entrance to the snorkeling area could definitely be improved with a ramp and some removal or rearrangements of some rocks at the entry point. Accommodations are very 1970's in feel as is all of Napili. Some may find this an asset. The way the facility is set up it feels a little like adult camp. It is an L building facing the cove, around a central lawn and pool which means all balconies face each other and the central area; thus balcony privacy does not exist. A shared barbecue area is in the middle which gets a lot of use during the evening. The condos themselves are worn and tired. The beds were soft and old and need to be updated. The furniture and décor are of the same 1970's vintage. The bathroom in the master bedroom is really small, almost boat like. A large person would have difficulty in this bathroom. The secondary bathroom has been updated and is much larger and nicer than the master. The appliances in the kitchen (microwave and dishwasher) are old and cheap. They could definitely use an update. Staff was great. They were friendly helpful and accommodating at all times. The lack of a sandy beach and privacy had positives and negatives. It was way less crowded than Napili or Kapalua, but it obviously lacked a beach. The walk to Napili beach was too long to carry much beach equipment and was aided by a car. The location necessitated having a car although bus transportation is widely available.

It is extremely hard to satisfy everyone's needs when it come to the softness or firmness of a mattress. The clientele that come to the Cove expect the retro feel and look of the Cove. Seventy five percent are repeat visitors that enjoy the "Old Hawaii" atmosphere. Many guests thoroughly enjoy the feel of an adult camp; it lends to the friendliness and Aloha that is shared amongst each other. If you are looking for a ten star, unfriendly, lots of privacy place....you won't find that at Honokeana Cove. You will find "Old Hawaii" and lots of Aloha. mahalo for your comments, Su

  We weren't very happy when we first got there because the dishes were in the dishwasher and most of them were dirty in the cupboard. That was taken care of as soon as we discussed it.We love this unit actually because it is familiar to us. It was nice to just go there with my husband and relax. The turtles are amazing in the cove. Sue is the best manager. It was a wonderful experience as usual. They probably need to replace the bed as it has a lot of dips in it. The view is amazing from this unit. The lanai is very spacious.

  Nice resort. Wonderful location. Outside kept cleaned, maintained. Only issues were that room needs to be updated, deep cleaned. Room needed to be deep cleaned regularly. Cleaners came in while we were there and did weekly cleaning which was good. The curtains and carpets were filthy and musty smelling, especially in bedrooms. In my opinion carpets shouldn't be allowed because they can never get clean. The kitchen cupboards needed a deep clean inside and out. The large bathroom was great (recently remodeled) but small bathroom shower needs to be remodeled. Also could use new living room furniture. Barry very friendly, helpful.

  Have not stayed at a more lovely condo in all of Maui. Unit was beautiful, staff above and beyond. Gardener would not let one leaf stay on the ground. Wifi not so much, but they are working on it. The Gazebo restaurant is right around the corner. Always a long line for breakfast, but worth the wait. However, lunch is very good without the lines.

  We enjoyed the time at Honokeno Cove. The grounds were kept very clean and the unit as well. The location was great and the cove excellent for snorkeling. It could use a bit more of a sand bottom at the entry point to the water but other wise great. The TV and DVD player system in 106 was the only less than stellar part of the experience it needs an up grade.

  We love staying at The Cove. The location is perfect and the staff always professional and friendly. Unfortunately, unit 106 needs a total remodel. The condition of each unit is the owner's responsibility, not management's. Without getting into detail, the unit needs a gut and to-do.

  Arrived on Jan.24,2013 for a one week stay. My daughter was to be married on the 26th right at the "cove". Sue Campos, Greg Stancil and C.P. were fantastic. Lawn was in but no plants yet. Greg arranged for delivery of trees and plants to be brought into the cove. (to be planted a week or so later)He and C.P.did a wonderful job in arranging the plants on the lawn at the wedding site. We had a great trip.
